“Prayer is the language of the poor. The self- sufficient don’t need to pray. The self- satisfied don’t want to pray. The self- righteous can’t pray. The only ones who can pray are those who realize that we need a power outside of ourselves.”
Colossians 3:1- 3
“If then, you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of the Father. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth, for you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
What business do we Christians have with living for the world? We are supposed to be dead to it, dead to our reputation, dead to pursuing our own gain, dead to living for more money and comfort, and dead to a worldly mindset.
Yes we must live in this world, but we are just passing through, as pilgrims, and are from another place. We are citizens of Heaven. Therefore we must set out minds on what God cares about and live for His will. He desires that none perish but that all would come to repentance and faith in Jesus. Is this your main goal in life? Does it concern you that people all around you are sinking into Hell every hour, never to escape?!
Please, if you say you love God, place your head on His chest and listen to what His heart beats for… It beats for the lost in the world. Then follow Him, and He will make you a fisher of men.
Love in Christ, Jonathan Ball
“Preaching the gospel is to us a matter of life and death; we throw our whole soul into it. We live and are happy if you believe in Jesus and are saved. But we are almost ready to die if you refuse the gospel of Christ.”
Charles H. Spurgeon
