Press On!

Press On!
Philippians 3:12
“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”
As a Christian, you often feel like you don’t have it all together. If you truly walk with God and desire to please Him, you will find yourself continuing to see things in your life that are displeasing to you. A great preacher once said, “The more holy you become, the more unholy you realize you still are.” And that is so true, but do not be discouraged dear brother and sister, for even Paul the apostle, that great pillar of our faith, confessed that he has not yet obtained perfection, but he pressed on towards the goal, and that is what we must do beloved, press on towards Jesus.
Peter tells us that God’s divine power has given us everything that we need to live a godly life, through the knowledge of Jesus Chris who called us (2 Peter 2:3). So seek to know Him more, and do not give up. Continue to grow in your knowledge of the Most High, and draw near to Him with a humble heart. God has given every Christian the power to live for Him.
Remember this beautiful fact: that if God did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, why would He not, with Jesus, also freely give us all things (Romans 8:32)? For He has already given you the most precious gift He can give, His only begotten Son, so He will not stop helping you now. No, God will finish the work that He started in you (Philippians 1:6), beloved of God, so be sure of that. His love for you is not dependent upon your ability to be perfect, but is because He chooses to love you regardless; For truly, none of us deserves His love.
So find strength in understanding God’s nature, and learn the riches that He has bestowed upon you in Christ. Know that if God is with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you, even if all others do. Learn the great and precious promises that He has given you, and stand upon them my friend; press on, and lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus laid hold of you!

Is God Angry at Me?

Is God Angry at Me?
1 Peter 1:16, 17
“Because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’ And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;”
If you were to hear someone say that God is angry with people, would your response be, “that’s not my God!” ? If so, let us examine the Scriptures together to see if your God is indeed the God of the Bible. Today, in an age of tolerance for everything except “truth”, our minds have been conditioned to accept an idolatrous image of God, one who is indifferent to sin and kindly accepts all manner of wickedness. Almost all of our songs are about love, love, love, and many people lack an understanding of the holiness of God.
Contrary to popular belief, God is angry with the wicked every day. If He were not angry at sinners then Jesus would not have been crucified in our place. Saying that God does not have righteous anger towards a hateful, adulterous and rebellious world is the same as saying that a judge is indifferent towards murders and rapists. God has to punish our wicked deeds because He is just. It is in His abundant mercy and love for His enemies that He provided Jesus as our Substitute; the Just being punished for the unjust.
Read the following Scriptures carefully and fear God. Psalms 7:11- 13 says, “God is a just Judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If He does not turn back He will sharpen His sword, He bends His bow and makes it ready. He prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.“ You can either chose to believe what God says about Himself and fear Him, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), or you can reject Scripture and worship an idol. But those who are His know His voice and will submit to truth.
Let us go on: the God of the Bible actually kills people. God killed two men because He did not like their conduct (Genesis 38:7,10), He struck Uzzah dead for touching the Ark of the Covenant in disobedience (2 Samuel 6:7) and He destroyed a fully populated world with a flood because the intent of their hearts were only evil continually (Genesis 6:5-7). He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with eternal fire because of their homosexuality and immorality (Jude vs.7). He killed 23,000 Israelites in one day for sexual immorality, and we are told that it was written as a warning for us who want to live the same way (1 Corinthians 10:6, 8). Now let’s go to the New Testament to see if God (who never changes) has changed: After Jesus established His Church, God killed Ananias and Sapphira for lying to the Holy Spirit, and the fear of God came over His people (Acts 5:1- 10). Today we see ministers doing the opposite, robbing people of holy fear by preaching a watered down message that say God is not angry at you. But Jesus said not to fear men but to fear the One who has the power to kill you and cast your soul into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him (Luke 12: 5). Even today the world is reserved to be judged by fire (2 Peter 3:7), and Revelations tells us that Jesus, the Lamb will tread the wine press of God’s wrath (Revelations 19:5; 6:16). John 3:36 says, “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
So where do you stand, dear friend, are you still at war with your Creator or have you made peace with Him through the blood of the cross? God’s holy nature will not be compromised. He will do what is right and should be feared. Know that He offers us mercy today, and has no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but He will not be mocked. What you sow in life, that you will reap in eternity (Galatians 6:7-9); either death or life, so chose life and enjoy a right relationship with the Living God. And you will live forever with Him! He is rich in mercy to the humble of heart, and will give you an inheritance with His Son Jesus Christ.

Love your Neighbor

Love your Neighbor
Mark 12:31
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Once a man dressed up as a homeless person and sat in front a Church. As “Christians” flooded in that day to hear the message and fulfill their religious duties, not one person stopped to minister to the man nor care for his needs. Then, the man got up, walked to the front and declared to the people the coldness of their hearts, for he was the speaker that day.
How many people have we passed up in the business of life? As we wear the name of Christ, or Levite or Priest, do we truly perform our spiritual duty to love our neighbor as ourselves? Ashamedly I must say “no”, we do not often walk the way we should. But we must, for whoever denies the least of these denies Jesus Christ Himself.
Lord please open our eyes to see what you see. Give us hearts that break for the lost, give us compassion that swallows our fears. Use what you have to serve others; do not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Look for the need, and meet it. Do you not see them? They are all around, a world full of walking dead men who need the water of life. Satan has beaten and broken them, sin has left them festering with soars, like leprosy that eats the flesh. They are rotten and dead, in need of the words of eternal life.
God has chosen you and I to be the vessels through whom He operates. Therefore, do not stop the flow of His Spirit by the clutter of selfishness or apathy, but seek to have clean hands and a pure heart so God can use you, and surely He will use you, dear friend. Let His power work through you mightily to reach every tribe, tongue and nation on earth, for He seeks such to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

America, WAKE UP!!!

America, WAKE UP!!!
My heart is so grieved over the state of our nation and over the condition of those who profess to follow Jesus. I know Paul warned Timothy that the day would come when men would no longer endure sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:1- 3), but it just breaks my heart to see. It breaks my heart to see so many people being deceived and led astray from the truth that is in Jesus. The battle is fierce. People truly have no clue how heavy of a war is being waged against their souls, but continue on with life as if there is nothing to be urgent about. AMERICA, WAKE UP!!! (Ephesians 6:12)
Life for the follower of Jesus is NOT about the American dream; that should have been nailed to the cross. The life you now live must be lived for Jesus and His will, for His agenda and purpose (Galatians 2:20). But if you are still living your best life now, you are headed for hell. Life is not about sports and comfort for the believer, but about sacrifice (Luke 9:23). Jesus bought you with His own blood, and if you are His, you must do His will (Luke 6:46). We are in a world that is perishing and we have been commanded to “GO” to every nation and preach the gospel to “every creature”, and to disciple the world (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19- 20). We must love our neighbor enough to reach into their lives and show them Jesus. Jesus both loved in actions and by speaking the word.
From the west coast to the east I see people who do not want to hear the gospel; their hearts are hard to God, they do not feel a need for Him. God will give us a need for Him soon. All across the States I see Christians and Church goers who think completely different about what is important; so many find it strange that we would preach the gospel in the open so sinners may hear the words of eternal life. Every sect has their views on the way things should be done, and there is division over who is right, all the while sinners are sinking into hell. Yes, heaven must weep.
It just tears my heart that correction is rejected, discipline is despised, so called Christians do not want to be told what they can and cannot do. “I can live how I want” is the cry of their heart, and so they can, and they will be following the counsel of the devil, who says “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the Law”. People heap up teachers for themselves that tickle their ears, telling them the brand of “Christianity” they want to have, which is no Christianity at all but is idolatry, forming a “Jesus” that they are comfortable with, one who will let them live for the world and think they are still right with God; But the world is passing away and the lust of it, and only those who do the will of the Father will live forever (1 John 2:15- 17).
Oh wake up you sleepers, awake and God will give you life. Listen to His voice, for He is the Resurrection and the Life! Come out of the tomb, take off your grave clothes and embrace the Son of the Living God!
