Insatiable

Insatiable

Proverbs 27:20

“Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.”

Imagine Hell for a moment, as awful as that is. The Scriptures say that “Hell from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming” (Isaiah 14:9); it will take all that come to it and even today it is swallowing people by the thousands. 150, 000 people die every 24 hours and most of them are not right with God. That should break your heart.

Therefore, Hell is never full, never satisfied, always seeking more victims, more souls to torment forever. Destruction never rests. Just look around you, watch the news, listen to the radio and you will see that destruction is rampant. Remember all the school shootings, the over populated prisons, the 157 million babies that have been destroyed in the womb, world war 1, 2 and every other war, the destruction of marriages through divorce, the mass drug and alcohol use that destroys the mind, the terrorists who cut off heads and run planes into towers, the huge pornography industry that destroys relationships and perverts the mind, the destructive words people speak to each other, tearing them down with their tongues, and the deadly behavior of the billions of hearts that refuse to submit to their Maker. There is no end to destructions apatite, it is insatiable.

This unquenchable thirst also abides in the heart of man. He looks at what he does not have and longs for it with passion. This greed compels him to do all he can get what he wants, and once he has it he longs for more. Although pleased for a moment, he is never satisfied, never content, always needing more. He gets the perfect woman, until another woman walks by. He leaves the one for the other, but still is not content. His cravings take him deeper into sin, driving his life into further depravity. He gets money but needs more, must have more. He gambles, he steps on people at work to get their position, even dirtying their name so he can grasp what they have, but still his lust is not full. He gets the newest fad, but a newer one quickly takes its place and once again he is driven for more. His life is a chasing of the wind, a grasping of oil. He will never have enough and his ravenous greed will lead him to the pit of hell. Beneath the earth, hell is moved with excitement for his arrival. Is this you my friend? Do you still lust for the world, or have you been born again?

John 3:3 “most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
