Stand For Truth

Stand For Truth

1 Peter 4:11

“If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.”

When Moses walked the earth, he spoke for God and was hated by many; centuries later however, the Pharisees spoke well of him as if they would of liked him. But just as their forefathers did, they too would want to stone Moses if he lived during their age, and they proved it because of their hatred for their present prophets, namely John the Baptist and Jesus Himself, who were both killed for their words.

And you also, man or woman of God, must resolve within yourself that you will live to please God and no one else, for you cannot please both. If you speak for God, as we are commanded, you will be hated by the world (John 15:18); you will also be misunderstood by your brothers and sisters at times. Do not be disheartened, for before you there was a great cloud of witnesses who also lived for the will of the Father (Hebrews 11; Hebrews 12:1); They were stoned, sawn in two, beaten, they hid in caves and wandered about in sheep skins, of whom the world was not worthy. For with God, the last will be first and the first last. He is the One you are to aim to please (2 Corinthians 5:9).

So press on, dear soldiers, and set your eyes on the One who went before you, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He brought light into a sinful world, and laid hold of the cross, despising the shame, because He looked passed that to the joy of knowing that millions upon millions who sat in darkness would see a great light, be loosed from the chains of judgment and receive everlasting life! Yes, let that be the apple of your eye my friends. For when you speak God’s word faithfully to the world, they will be convicted, they will get angry, they will despise you as they hated your Master, but be of good cheer, look past the shame; look unto the many souls that might be saved from everlasting destruction because of the power of your message. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe..” Romans 1:16

Wonderful, Counselor

Wonder, Counselor

Isaiah 9:6

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Who is this wonderful Man who entered the world 2,000 years ago? Some say a Prophet, some say a good man, others say He simply found enlightenment, and still others say He was an angel; but who do you say that He is? Your answer to that question will propel you into eternity; some to eternal damnation and others to eternal life.

Without a doubt, this Man split history in half, impacting the earth with colossal force. His words and miracles astounded people beyond measure. His coming sent shockwaves through history; tens of millions have died for His name, the wickedest of men have been transformed into saints, and an innumerable amount of people will enter the gates of heaven because of His sacrifice. Will you be one of them?

Truly He is more than wonderful; there are no words to describe His greatness. He is the King of all Kings, the infinitely wise Creator, and the Judge of all the earth; He is coming back to set up an everlasting kingdom, and even now He reigns in the heart of millions. Like a Father He will care for His people forever (Psalms 23:1), but will destroy His enemies with an everlasting fire (2 Thessalonians 1:7- 9). Oh won’t you run to His mercy today? Look to the cross dear reader, for His blood was shed for you! If you will only repent and believe, you will be saved (Acts 20:21; Acts 3:19; John 3:16). Seek Him today; I implore you, for tomorrow may never come!

Arrogance

Arrogance

Isaiah 2:11

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.”

One of the greatest enemies of God is pride; for the wicked man in his pride will not seek God, and He is in none of his thoughts (Psalms 10:4). Man enters this life through no authority of his own, and becoming aware of himself he lives out his life as if he were god, arrogantly rejecting submission to the LORD of all creation. The little being says, “I don’t need God!” and yet on the day he dies he will have no power at all!

Oh foolish little man! Seek God! For you could not even breath unless God granted you air, and the body you now use to defy Him is not your own. If the God that you reject did not instruct your heart, it would not beat! Unless He had written the 3.1 billion letter code book called your DNA you would not have eyes at this moment to read my words, nor ears to hear the sound of your friends, nor the ten thousand taste buds to enjoy your next meal! On the Day of Judgment, the LORD alone will be exalted, but the prideful man will be brought low.

Let us humble ourselves today and take our rightful place as the creature, not the Creator. Let us submit to the Almighty God of the universe, and He will give us grace through His Son Jesus Christ. Blessed be His name.
